FEAST on tour in Germany
with violinist Marijn Simons

FEAST is forging new paths in classical chamber music.

Combining rigorous classical training with an intense desire to reach audiences of all ages and musical tastes, FEAST delivers a concert that connects deeply to their audiences. Generally, FEAST begins a program with a trio from the classical or romantic era, such as Haydn
or Mendelssohn. A violin-cello duet may follow, or some virtuoso Paganini on the violin or Rachmaninoff on the piano. Following intermission, the expectant audience gazes upon a full, exotic percussion set up, a state-of-the-art keyboard, and acoustic violin and cello set up for light amplification. In the words of one concert goer, “I have attended classical chamber music concerts for over 40 years, and never have I heard it as exciting and dramatic as in a FEAST
concert.”

Founded in Grand Junction, Colorado, FEAST has performed extensively in the last three years. All members of the group have had classical training, and significantnational and international careers as classical performers. As FEAST, their music has delighted audiences of every age and musical taste. Recipients of grants from the Colorado Council on the Arts and the Grand Junction Commission on the Arts, FEAST’s mission is to bring classical music to both experienced classical music listeners and adults and children who have never experienced a classical chamber music concert. Rave reviews from both critics and audience members - from ages 5 to 85 - have led to an ever-increasing concert schedule. As part of their plan to bring classical chamber music to new venues, they have performed on outdoor music festivals. Concerts at the Silverplume Festival and the Carbondale Mountain Fair, broadcast live on radio, were met with great enthusiasm. At the Harvest Festival in Paonia this last fall the house was so over-packed, the organizers are considering using crowd control the next time FEAST performs. January 2008 marks FEAST’s first European tour, with concerts in Germany. Fall of 2008 has concerts in Germany, Switzerland, and Holland scheduled , as well as numerous concerts in the States, and the release of their first CD.

FEAST stretches the definition of chamber music

"There was never a dull moment Friday, Nov. 30 , when the eclectic group FEAST rattled the structure of the Canyonview Vineyard Church with what was billed as a concert of rhapodies. Sponsored by the Western Slope Chamber Music Series, this group really stretched the definition of chamber music. The audience responded with not one, but two, standing ovations."
